Monorail Makes Presence in Wuhu

As a well-known city with long history in the east of Yangtze River, Wuhu makes the leap in rail transit industry. Wuhu finally introduces straddle monorail after full consideration of the preliminary, recent and long-term demand of urban public transport, combining with comprehensive factors such as urban general planning, assessment of financial capacity, economic development, historical and cultural background, topographical and geological characteristics. It took over 2 years to compare various systems. Comprehensive comparison and analysis were made between metro (light rail), monorail, tram, etc from the aspects of core economic and technical parameters such as capacity, environmental protection, construction, operation and maintenance.
